The stillness and darkness of winter is calling us to slow down and turn inward. And, New Year's Eve is a potent time for inward practice and silence as we reflect on the year closing. You are warmly invited to join Monique for a special New Year's Eve practice online (via Zoom). Our practice will include a deeply nourishing yin yoga practice focused on restoring Kidney chi. Yin yoga provides a beautiful container for insight through stillness. Throughout the practice, Monique will offer opportunities for somatic & psycho-spiritual inquiry and guided meditation.
Kidney chi is essential for our overall wellbeing, vitality and healthy immune system. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kidney chi is considered the wellspring of energy for the whole body. When our Kidney chi is depleted, we can experience: stress, fatigue, colds/flus and emotions of fear and loneliness. When our Kidney chi is balanced, we feel grounded, our energy is balanced, and we are able to access our innate wisdom and the ability to trust in the unknown.
Yin yoga is a passive, meditative practice that removes stagnation deep in our connective tissues (our ligaments, joints, fascia). Poses are held for several minutes to gently stretch and hydrate the connective tissues. The energetic benefits of Yin are based in Traditional Chinese Medicine in which we are stimulating the meridian channels (rivers of energy or chi) in the body. It is often thought of as a needless acupuncture. By nourishing the organ channels, chi is able to flow with more harmony and strength. This stabilizes the emotional body and mind, resulting in a peaceful and balanced state of being.
All levels of yoga practice are welcome.

Join Monique and Sheana for a 4 day (3 night) Spring Renewal Yoga and Meditation Retreat at the tranquil and chic Bell Valley Retreat located in the hills above Anderson Valley (just 2 1/2 hours north of San Francisco).
This is truly a special place, as the retreat land spans more than 600 acres, with extensive trails weaving through rolling oak hills and open meadows. Each element of Bell Valley Retreat promotes harmony and integration with the land, designed to honor the natural landscape originally settled by Native Pomo tribes.
Spring is a potent season of renewal, rebirth and blossoming as we emerge out of the darkness and stillness of winter. Retreat invites an intentional container to explore the personal meaning of this shift in season as well as an opportunity for self reflection, healing and transformation.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is the season associated with Liver meridian, which when in balance, supports detoxification and cultivating compassion. The retreat practices will support balancing liver chi to create harmony in the physical body and subtle energy centers of body, heart and mind.
All levels of yoga practice are welcome. Some meditation experience is preferred, but not required.
During this retreat, we will have exclusive access to the entire property. The retreat experience will include:

A $325 deposit holds your spot and guarantees room selection, or you may pay in full now. Final payment is due no later than March 13.
The retreat will begin at 4:00 pm on April 13 and end at 12:00 pm on April 16.
*Covid protocol: Bell Valley requires testing 72 hours before arrival, and all guests (vaccinated or not) will need to provide proof of negative test results.
*Cancellation policy: Cancellations made before March 13 will receive a full refund. Any cancellations made after March 13 are non-refundable. Exceptions will be made if you test positive for Covid within 14 days of the retreat.
